Well, 2005 is upon us - happy new year to you, and we hope it’s a good one for you.
Just back from the first Kodiak rehearsal of the year, and everything is sounding fresh - sometimes a wee two week break can do you good - the songs all have a bit of a new “feel” having been left alone for a while.
Work is progressing on a few new songs too - we had the bizarre situation this evening of trying a new song, it not really working first time, going back to working on another song, it not really working, writing something from scratch and realising the first song would fit perfectly with it, and so solving our first problem… Kind of a backward way of doing it, but it all worked. The new song is one of mine that has been kicking around for a while - “The Last Time” - doesn’t really sound anything like the original recording, but hey, that’s the way these things go!
Confirmation of the Cathouse gig on February 10th this afternoon too - this should be a cracker, and we can’t wait to get on the Cathouse stage. Should have a few of these new songs ready by then, so you won’t all get too bored with two gigs in one month…
So, that’s it in Kodiakworld really - gearing up for new gigs with new songs with a renewed vigour. All looking kinda promising, hopefully.
